Our shopping bags always include artichokes and asparagus when available at our farmers' market. We are lucky to be in California where almost 100% of the artichoke crop of North America is grown. When asparagus appears at the market, no matter where in the world we are shopping, we know that the joy of spring is soon to be celebrated.
